Family Support Services (FSS)
The Family Support Services Program (FSSP) provides support for families who have children with developmental disabilities or delays with costs that are beyond those normally experienced by other families. Eligibility for the FSS Program
Any individual with an Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD), as determined pursuant to Section 25.5-10-211, C.R.S., living with their family is eligible for the FSSP.
- Living with a family means that the individual’s place of residence is with that family.
- Living with family may include periods of time from one (1) day up to six (6) months during which the individual is not in his or her primary residence because of transition into or out of the home.
- The CCB, in cooperation with the Family Support Council, shall determine what constitutes a transition.
- The family and eligible individual shall reside in the State of Colorado. Should the family move from one Colorado service area to another, Mesa Developmental Services will continue funding for the remainder of the allotment period for services and supports committed to in the Family support Plan. The CCB will not provide any funds to support families who move out of state.
- Eligibility for FSSP does not guarantee the availability of services and supports under the program.
