START Program

Improving the care of individuals with IDD and behavioral Health needs by utilizing a multidisciplinary, coordinated approach.

The START philosophy is based on a systems linkage approach, which emphasizes focusing on solutions, active communication, and group decision-making in the system of care, in addition to a better understanding of individual clinical and treatment needs to improve service outcomes. START programs require person-centered, evidence-informed practices, continuous training and skill building practitioners, active participation of stakeholders, collection and analysis of data, and ongoing opportunities for collaboration and modification of services in response to individual and trend-related outcomes.
