Children Extensive Supports Waiver (CES)
The Children’s Extensive Support Waiver (CES) helps children with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families, by providing services and supports that will help children to establish a long-term foundation for community inclusion as they grow into adulthood.

Benefits & Services
To Be Determined Eligible for the CES, the following is required:
- Less than eighteen years of age
- Has been determined to have a developmental disability which inc. developmental delay if under five (5) years of age
- Live in the family home
- Demonstrate a medical or behavioral condition that is so intense that almost constant line of sight supervision is required to keep the child and others safe
- Determined to meet the Federal Social Security Administration’s definition of disability

You or your loved one will be assigned an options counselor who will assist with determining the most appropriate waiver/service to meet the individual’s needs either through the Department of Human Services or through the Community Centered Board

Once ARDC has been contacted and routed a referral to MDS, the Intake Case Manager will proceed with eligibility determination for a specific waiver resource.
